Common Faults of Pneumatic Tools and Solutions

Bearings are often used in motors in pneumatic tools. But we will find that after using the generator for a period of time, there will be the imagination of failure? We need to find out what causes the common faults of motor bearings and solutions?


1. The retainer sound is "sharp and sharp..." :

Reason analysis: Vibration and collision between retainer and rolling element may occur regardless of the type of grease. It is easier to produce when bearing torque, load or radial clearance is large.

Solutions: A, improve the accuracy of the retainer; B, choose bearings with small clearance or apply preload to bearings; C, reduce the moment load, reduce installation errors; D, select good grease.


2. Continuous buzzing :

Reason analysis: The motor operates without load and produces a sound similar to buzzing, and the motor undergoes abnormal axial vibration. When the motor is turned on or off, there is a "buzzing" sound.

Specific features: multi-lubrication is not good, and in winter, the motor with ball bearings at both ends is frequent, mainly because of the unstable vibration under the influence of axial vibration when the axis alignment performance is not good.

Solutions: A, grease with good lubricity; B, add preload to reduce installation error; C, choose bearings with small radial clearance; D, improve the rigidity of motor bearing seat; E, strengthen the alignment of bearings.

Note: Fifth point plays a fundamental role in improving the use of 02 small groove curvature, 01 large groove curvature.


3. Paint rust:

Reason analysis: Because the motor bearing housing paint is dry, the volatile chemical composition corrodes the end face, outer groove and groove of the bearing, which causes abnormal sound after the groove is corroded.

Specific features: After being corroded, the bearing surface rusts more seriously than the first side.

Solutions: A, assemble rotor, casing, air-drying or drying; B, reduce motor temperature; C, choose suitable paint type; D, improve the environmental temperature of motor bearing placement; E, use suitable grease, grease cause less rust, silicone oil and mineral oil are most likely to cause; F, use vacuum impregnation process.


4. Impurities:

Cause analysis: caused by the cleanliness of bearings or greases, an irregular abnormal sound is emitted.

Specific features: occasional voice, no rules when big or small, on high-speed motors.

Solutions: A, select good grease; B, improve the cleanliness before grease injection; C, strengthen the sealing performance of bearings; D, improve the cleanliness of installation environment.


5. High-frequency, vibration sound "Da Da...":
Specific features: The sound frequency varies with the speed of the bearing, and the surface waviness of the parts is the main cause of noise.

Solutions: A, improve the quality of bearing raceway surface processing, reduce the amplitude of corrugation; B, reduce bumps; C, modify clearance preload and coordination, check the operation of free-end bearings, improve the accuracy of shaft and bearing seat installation method.


6. Warming up:

Specific features: After bearing operation, the temperature exceeds the required range.

Reason analysis: A, too much grease, lubricant resistance increased; B, too small clearance caused by internal load too large; C, installation error; D, sealing equipment friction; E, bearing creep.

Solutions: A. Choose the right grease and use it appropriately; B. Correct clearance preload and cooperation to check the operation of free-end bearings; C. Improve the accuracy of bearing seat and installation method; D. Improve the sealing form.


7. Bearing feels bad:

Specific features: When gripping the rotating rotor of the bearing by hand, impurities and blockage in the bearing are felt.

Reason analysis: A, excessive clearance; B, improper matching of inner diameter and shaft; C, channel damage.

Solutions: A, clearance as small as possible; B, tolerance zone selection; C, improve accuracy, reduce channel damage; D, oil selection.
