Step 1: Wax Application

Prep & Prime: The paint surface must be cleaned with car wash liquid and paint cleaner, and the gaps must be blown dry with an air gun before construction.

Wax Layering: Apply solid car wax in overlapping“fish-scale”patterns using a sponge buffing pad. To improve the adhesion of the material, dip the new polishing disc in wax and spin it for 30 seconds.

Pro tip: Pre-chill wax in hot climates to prevent premature drying.

Step 2: Precision Waxing

To get started with waxing using our Mini Air Sander, attach a dampened wave sponge buffing pad, this sponge texture boosts how well the wax spreads. A light mist on the pad helps reduce friction and keeps things flexible. We recommend keeping air pressure between 0.5 and 0.8 Mpa for the most even coat. Guide the sander slowly using overlapping "#" shaped passes, making sure each new pass covers a third of the previous one. For tricky spots like edges, ridges, rearview mirrors, and door handles, drop the rotation speed a bit. The techs rely on a quick "touch-and-lift" buffing motion, holding it for about 2 seconds per spot, to stop wax from building up unevenly.

Step 3: Polishing Perfection

Switching to a wool buffing wheel gives you that final, refined shine. You'll want to increase the sander's rotation speed now to eliminate any leftover swirl marks. Keep an eye on the surface temperature using an IR thermometer, we pause work immediately if it climbs past 40 degrees Celsius for safety's sake. Want a true mirror finish? Apply glaze within 72 hours after polishing and seal it in tight with protective wax for lasting results.
